Day 191 – Thankful for a Teammate Keeping an Eye Out for Me & Our Team

06 Apr

Today I am thankful for a teammate keeping an eye out for me & our team.

A few months ago I got an email from Carolyn saying that there was an HR Conference in Eau Claire that was looking for presenters and that I should apply.  I thanked her for thinking of me, set it off to the side with the intent of applying, and then got busy and forgot about it.  A few weeks later she shot me an email asking if I had applied yet and urged me to do apply as she thought it would be a pretty cool opportunity for both me and Express.  Following her advice I made it a priority and got it turned in.

As luck would have it, I was selected to present!

Here’s what the info looked like:Screen Shot 2016-04-05 at 7.15.15 PM

So this morning I found myself up in Eau Claire early in the morning to present.  As I looked at the empty room I figured I’d be happy to have about half the room filled.  There were approximately 120 attendees for the entire event, and my presentation was one of three to choose from.

As people started pouring in the 48 seats quickly filled up and additional chairs were brought in.  All totaled there were approximately 60-65 people in attendance.  Before I started I took a second to take it in and realize I was there because I had a teammate who was watching out for me and our team.

She saw an awesome opportunity for us to show why we excel at what we do.  Thank you Carolyn for thinking of me and your Express team!

Thanks!!!
