Today I am thankful for hanging with my boys.
Between Wednesday and Thursday I stayed overnight in Eau Claire and was working a ton (30 hours in two days is a little extreme, even by my standards). This afternoon I cut out a little early to pick the boys up from school for a couple hours of fun in the awesome weather.
We put on our trail running gear, water bottles, and our futsol ball and headed out to the Quarry trail above Hixon. We had a BLAST!!!
Between chasing each other, throwing elbows, dribbling the ball at a crazy pace down hills and through the mud, and maybe some pushing, we had an excellent time. We got to the bottom of the quarry and created a game of 500 using the soccer ball and our feet.
From there we dribbled up hills, created new trails, maybe had some punches in the arms at high speeds, and then climbed some rocks and did some exploring…
To wrap things up there may or may not have been one of the most epic stick battles in the history of the world.
We had an awesome time and I’m glad I took a couple of hours to enjoy some dude time with my boys. Just a hunch, but I’m thinking this may be one of those times that they remember for a very long time… I know I will.
