Today I’m thankful for home improvement projects.
When I think back to all the times my dad would be working on our house I’d wonder why he did that. Wouldn’t you rather being doing something else? I thought it was crazy that he enjoyed it as much as he did.
Now I’m starting to understand. After a crazy week of work there is something very satisfying about working on a couple of projects that I can start and finish in less than a day. Today it was re-hangging some towel hooks, finishing the grout on a built in shelf in the kitchen, and starting to fix the faucet in the basement bathroom. Tomorrow will include replacing the lights on our boat trailer and finishing the basement shower. The sense of completion feels great after some projects like these.
Many times I feel a sense of completion deprivation at work due to the long term projects I work on, today it has been great working on things I can start and finish in one day.
